3000 schritt für die Fitness - Lesen bewegt

Bischofsheim clearly takes fitness seriously. Apart from Nordic Walking courses for all abilities the 'Lokal-Anzeiger' of 15th of October reports on a local implementaton of a national initiative for health and fitness 'Lesen bewegt' (reading moves) supported by the Ministry of Health, the Library Association and Booksellers. The 3000 steps to fitness aims to promote physical and mental activity. Bishofsheim set up a 2.4 kilometre course with rest stations on the way for its senior citizens. The route finished at the library where the mayor, our friend Reinhard Bersch, gave a talk on the theme of movement using extracts from the inspirational book by Hape Kerkelings 'Ich bin dann mal weg' which relates the author's experiences on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela. The town's children made sure everyone was well fed and watered. (Editions of the local paper are displayed in Crewe Library)

Le Marché des Plaisirs Gourmands

At the same time the Mâcon town website was advertising a high class food market with specialities from its twin towns of Neustadt in Germany, Lecco in Italy and Alcazar de San Juan in Spain. Unfortunately there was nothing from Crewe!
The Brotherhoods of St Vincent and St Fiacre, who inducted our last two mayors, were also to be represented.
