On behalf of the social committee I would like to extend our best wishes to all our members and supporters for Christmas and the New Year.
It has been an eventful year starting with the annual dinner at South Cheshire College which was, once again, popular and a success. A well attended BBQ in July was a good opportunity to welcome Barbara (Basia) Hucaluk and her daughter on their visit from Poland. The concert at St. Michaels Church given by the Crewe Male Voice Choir and the Nantwich and District Band was a resounding success with a very respectable profit for CANTA with a similar result from the Duck Race.
Next years events are already in the planning stages: A Hoedown to be held at the Willaston Social Club, on 30th January at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Crofters, a meat and potato pie followed by trifle supper, including tea and coffee. Tickets are on sale at 10 each and are available by contacting Rosemary on 01270 669379. The annual dinner will be held at Hunters Lodge 20th February due to the reduced capacity at South Cheshire College, whilst it undergoes reconstruction. More details later.
I sincerely hope that you will continue to support CANTA especially in these trying economic times not to mention the possible effects of the re-organisation of the council. Cultural exchange is necessary and rewarding and we would like to have more personal and corporate membership involvement to help CANTA grow.
