Bischofsheim says a final farewell to Reinhard Bersch

There was an election poster on the lecturn but no election speech.The picture on the right shows the retiring mayor thanking his well-wishers.

150 guests came to the farewell event as Reinhard Bersch with colleagues and friends marked the end of his time in office. The Youth Centre, as well as a marquee outside the building, was completely full when he attended his last public function as mayor.

The Chairman of CANTA, Clive Mosby, and his wife Jane attended the event on the Association's behalf and presented Reinhard with a signed tankard. There is a full report in the 'Lokal Anzeiger' of the 4th of July 2011. It will shortly be in Crewe Library as are all other issues of Bischofsheim's local newspaper.

It was naturally a big party as the 'engere Kreis' the 'inner circle' who were invited was quite large because of his many official jobs over the years.

Den Ort seiner Verabschiedung aus dem Bügermeisteramt in Bischofsheim hatte Reinhard Bersch gut gewählt. Der Redemarathon, der die ersten zwei Stunden der sechstündigen Feier prägte, war dabei wohl unvermeidlich. Je später der Abend, desto lockerer die Stimmung, lautete daher der Eindruck der mit rund 150 Gästen besuchten Veranstaltung im Jugendhaus in der Schulestraße.

Im Laufe von zwölf Jahren im Rathaus, aber auch vielen Jahren zuvor schon in ehrenamtlichen Aufgaben für seine Heimatgemeinde, hat Reinhard Bersch unzählige Freunde und Weggefährten gesammelt. So geriet auch der für die Feier gewählte engere Kreis unvermeidlich rech groß. Das Vereinsleben prägte bersch Aktivitäten in Bischofsheim vor seiner politischen Tätigkeit, der Kreis der Kommunalpolitiker unf Verwaltungskollegen nich nur in Bischofsheim, wuchs dann ab 1999 sodass der stattliche Kreis der Eingeladenen nicht überaschte.
